Tarlan Ahmadov was born on November 17, 1971.

In 1989-1991, 1998-2002, he played 117 games for Neftchi and scored 6 goals. The defender won the national cup with Neftchi in 1999 and was named the best football player in Azerbaijan. From 1992 to 2005, he played 75 games for the Azerbaijani national team.

Tarlan Ahmadov worked as a coach at Neftchi in 2011-2013 and as a head coach in 2017-2018. During this period, our team won the Azerbaijani championship (2012, 2013) and the Cup (2013), and qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League (2012).
