Asif Aliyev was born on February 10, 1956 in Ganja.

During his football career, in 1973-1974, 1976-1985, he played 258 games for Neftchi and scored 43 goals.

After finishing his career, he started coaching. He was the head coach of "Neftchi" in 1996, 1998, 1999.
